Dr Moray

Dr Amol Moray has expertise in the medical care of children with heart problems. Dr Moray is a certified paediatric and fetal cardiologist. He completed his paediatric cardiology training in Australia followed by a subspeciality fellowship in paediatric echocardiography, paediatric cardiac MRI and fetal cardiology (cardiac care of the baby in the mother’s womb) in Canada. Dr Moray is a fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Paediatrics and a fellow of the Cardiac Society of Australia and New Zealand. Dr Moray is also a staff specialist in Paediatric Cardiology at the Gold Coast University Hospital. He finds it a privilege to support families in understanding and managing the cardiac conditions that babies and children can experience and works closely with their GP and Paediatrician to ensure a solid network of support.
During his training in Australia and Canada, Dr Moray has been extensively involved in the cardiac care of children of all ages, from newborns till late adolescence. This includes looking after extremely fragile newborns and infants with critical heart disease, born with abnormal ‘heart plumbing’. Dr Moray also has significant experience in the cardiac care of the very small premature babies. Dr Moray’s special interests are in the field of paediatric cardiac echocardiography and fetal cardiology.
Dr Moray moved to Australia after completing general paediatric training in India. He completed his cardiology training from major paediatric cardiac centres in Brisbane, Sydney, and in Canada. He also trained in Narayana Health, India and it is considered to be amongst the busiest paediatric cardiac centres in the world. In Brisbane Dr Moray worked at the Mater children’s hospital and the Lady Cilento Children’s Hospital (renamed Queensland Children’s Hospital), where he worked as a staff specialist for a year before moving to Canada for sub-speciality training.
Dr Moray trained in fetal cardiology in Canada under the supervision of Professor Lisa Hornberger, world renowned fetal cardiologist and a pioneer in the field of fetal cardiology. During his training at the fetal cardiology programme at the Royal Alexandra Hospital for Women/Stollery Children’s hospital Dr Moray was extensively involved in clinical and research work. His research interests include placental link to fetal heart problems, he has presented his work with Professor Hornberger at various international conferences. Dr Moray has stopped seeing fetal cardiac patients privately and currently Dr Moray undertakes public fetal cardiology work only at the Gold Coast university Hospital. Dr Moray is fluent in English, Hindi and Marathi.
